The Green Bay Packers enjoyed a bye week in Week 5, and are now preparing to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6.

The Packers are sitting at 2-1-1 so far and have a top 10 offense in terms of points per game. Aside from a weird Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns, the Packers have scored at least 27 points in each game.

However, as has been the case for several years now, the Packers don't have a true No. 1 receiving option. Tight end Tucker Kraft leads the team in total catches and yards, and a different player has been the team's leading receiver each week.

As a result, Josh Weil of Pro Football & Sports Network identified Calvin Ridley as a realistic trade target for the Packers. Ridley is the leading receiver on the Tennessee Titans, but the Titans have just one win and appear set to finish as one of the league's worst teams again.

Weil offered the following potential deal:

  • Packers get: WR Calvin Ridley, 2027 seventh-round pick
  • Titans get: WR Malik Heath, 2026 sixth-round pick

"His (Ridley) contract isn’t guaranteed beyond this season, and if he plays to his potential, he is certainly worth the remaining salary; if not, he can try again in a new system. I am confident that a big-bodied, skilled wide receiver like this would play a significant role in this offense and help them make a push in the playoffs," Weil said.

As Weil mentioned, Ridley is an experienced veteran who could immediately play a big role in the Packers' offense. Jayden  Reed is still weeks away from returning to the fold, and Matthew Golden needs some more time to develop before being consistently relied upon.

So far in 2024, Ridley has caught 15 passes for 272 yards. The veteran has yet to find the end zone, but he's averaging 18.1 yards per catch and is still a solid downfield threat. In Green Bay, the veteran would have less pressure as he'd be surrounded by Kraft and Romeo Doubs.

Meanwhile, the Titans would get a better draft pick, albeit a late one, and a much younger and cheaper receiver in Heath. Heath has 27 catches for 268 yards and three scores over 30 career NFL games.

It may not seem like the best package for the Titans, but Ridley is on the wrong side of 30 and has a massive $28 million cap hit this year. Ridley would be of much more use to a contending team like the Packers.
