Packers playoff picture: Updated chances for Green Bay to make 2025 NFL postseason in Week 15 image

For the first time since Week 9, the Green Bay Packers entered a week sitting atop the NFC North. They had been battling with the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions, but a Week 14 win over the Bears propelled the Packers to the top of the standings with just four weeks to go in the regular season.

The Packers have a tough test in Week 15 as they take on the Denver Broncos, who come in with not only the best record in the AFC, but the best record in the NFL. It is a non-conference matchup, but a loss would count all the same for Green Bay's overall record.

The Packers enter Week 15 as the No. 2 seed in the NFC's playoff picture. Thanks to a Week 4 tie with the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay sits a half-game up on Chicago. If the Packers were to lose in Week 15, but the Bears beat the visiting Cleveland Browns, the top of the division would flip once again. The good news for Green Bay is that if it wins in Week 15, it will still be in first place in the division heading into Week 16.

Here is more on the Packers' playoff chances in Week 15 of the 2025 NFL season.

The good news for the Packers is that they are currently the No. 2 seed in the NFC; the bad news is that with four weeks to go (including Week 15), they have far from clinched a playoff spot.

If Green Bay wins over Denver in Week 15, it will remain atop the NFC North and will be at worst still the No. 2 seed. If the Los Angeles Rams lose to the Lions, the Seattle Seahawks lose to the Indianapolis Colts, and the Packers win over the Broncos, Green Bay would move into first place in the NFC standings. This would be huge because the No. 1 seed gets the first-round bye, and the Packers would then control their own playoff destiny down the stretch of the season.

If the Packers lose against the Broncos, they are at the mercy of other results around the league. Green Bay would drop into second place in the NFC North if Chicago were to beat Cleveland. A loss with a Bears win would drop the Packers from the No. 2 seed to either the No. 6 or No. 7 seed, depending on whether the San Francisco 49ers beat or lose to the Tennessee Titans in the afternoon slate. A Packers and Bears loss would keep Green Bay as the No. 2 seed in the NFC heading into Week 16.

Packers remaining schedule

Green Bay is likely focusing on its next trio of games. Week 15 against Denver is a huge game, and it only gets bigger in Week 16 as Green Bay takes on Chicago. A win in the divisional rematch would give the Packers a huge edge with the head-to-head tiebreaker if it comes down to it.

The Packers then have to take on Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17, which will be no easy task. That game will be played at Lambeau Field, and the weather could certainly be a factor. The hope for Green Bay is that it has its playoff spot locked in by Week 18 and that the Packers can rest some players for a road game against the already eliminated Minnesota Vikings.
