Consistency hasn't been on the Green Bay Packers' side this season, but they seem to have righted the ship after falling from the No. 1 seed in the NFC to the No. 7 seed in a span of two weeks.
The Packers entered Thanksgiving fresh off perhaps their best performance of the season, a dominant defensive win over the Minnesota Vikings that kept them in the thick of the NFC North race. Green Bay then kept the momentum going in Detroit on Thanksgiving with another victory.
The Packers and Detroit Lions are not the only factors in the NFC North race. The Chicago Bears have jumped out to an unlikely lead in the division, though the order could change in a hurry during the holiday weekend.
Here's a complete look at the Packers' place in both the NFC North and NFC wild-card races.

The Packers are currently the NFC's No. 6 seed at 8-3-1, trailing narrowly in the NFC North and clinging to a playoff spot by a 1.5-game margin.
NFC North standings
| Rank | Team | Record | GB |
| 1 | Bears | 8-3 | — |
| 2 | Packers | 8-3-1 | — |
| 3 | Lions | 7-5 | 1.5 |
| 4 | Vikings | 4-7 | 4.0 |
The Packers are temporarily tied with the Bears atop the NFC North after Thanksgiving, but Green Bay's one tie puts it in second place for now. The Bears have yet to play in Week 13.
If the Bears lose to the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, the Packers would lead the NFC North.

A crowded NFC wild-card picture still leaves the Packers at slight risk of missing the playoffs, as Green Bay now leads the Lions by 1.5-games with Detroit sitting outside the playoff picture, although the head-to-head Week 13 win will be helpful. The Packers can feel a bit more comfortable in the NFC with their Thanksgiving win.
More good news for Packers fans is they likely won't have to worry much about tiebreakers this season, barring another tie. Because Green Bay's Week 4 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys finished in a tie, the Packers can't finish with the same record as any team other than Dallas unless another NFC contender settles for a tie.
