Packers' Micah Parsons joins Reggie White as 2nd player in NFL history with this sacks stat image

Micah Parsons continues to look like the superstar pass rusher the Green Bay Packers traded for before the season from the Dallas Cowboys.

In other words, so far, so good for Parsons in his new home.

He picked up two more sacks in Sunday's key divisional win over the Minnesota Vikings, and he'll get a big stage for his next game, when the Packers go to Detroit to take on the Lions on Thanksgiving Day.

Parsons has now reached 10 sacks through 11 games.

He's only the second player in NFL history to begin his career with double-digit sacks in at least five consecutive seasons.

Parsons, in season five, still has a ways to go to catch Reggie White, who did it in his first nine years, according to ESPN.

"Considering how he tossed aside the Vikings' $113 million left tackle Christian Darrisaw, Parsons' two-sack day (was impressive)," writes ESPN's Kevin Seifert. "Parsons became the first Packers player with double-digit sacks in a season since 2020 (Za'Darius Smith, 12.5). At 10 sacks through 11 games, Parsons has his fifth straight double-digit sack season, which is now the second-longest streak by any player (behind Reggie White's nine) to begin a career since sacks were first tracked in 1982. It wasn't just Parsons, though. The Packers sacked Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy five times and recorded a total of 10 quarterback hits."

That stat about double-digit sacks dating to Za'Darius Smith in 2020 is notable, too. The Packers haven't had an effective enough pass rush in recent years. Parsons is an effective pass rush by himself.

Green Bay will hope this is just the beginning for Parsons, who signed a long-term extension after the trade and is set to keep sacking QBs in a Packers uniform for a long time.
