Malik Willis got two seasons in Green Bay to learn from Packers head coach Matt LaFleur.

Now, the talented QB is likely to spread his wings in free agency and move elsewhere.

There are two possible destinations floated by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler in a new article this week: the Cleveland Browns and the Miami Dolphins.

Fowler quotes an NFC personnel staffer as saying, "I just don't think [the Browns] go into the season with Shedeur [Sanders] as their top option. And getting the right quarterback in the draft isn't a guarantee based on where they pick."

The Browns haven't gotten the quarterback position right since they were revived in Cleveland in 1999.

Willis isn't a sure thing, but every time he has filled in for Jordan Love in Green Bay, he's done a solid job.

He has a strong throwing arm and impressive mobility, and his reading of the game has gotten so much better under LaFleur than it was when he first entered the league with the Titans.

The Dolphins could pursue him, too, as a possible replacement for Tua Tagovailoa.

"No regime will know Willis' strengths better than Miami, which just hired a brain trust of GM Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley from Green Bay," Fowler writes. "The Packers valued Willis' development and Miami could bear the fruits of that labor."

It's certainly an easy leap to make to think those former Packers employees would love to bring Willis with them. It might add a comfort level for him, too.

The free agency of Willis will be one of the most interesting to watch this offseason.
