The Green Bay Packers can do Aaron Rodgers a solid this weekend.

If the Packers win their game, then their legendary QB and his new Pittsburgh Steelers team clinch a playoff spot.

Here's how that works: The Steelers enter the weekend two games up on the Ravens in the AFC North Division with two games to play.

The Packers play the Ravens on Saturday. So a Green Bay win would ensure Baltimore has no path to making up that gap.

Pittsburgh doesn't play until Sunday at the Cleveland Browns. Which means that they'll already know that result before taking the field.

If the Packers indeed beat the Ravens, the Steelers will enter Week 17's clash with a weight off their shoulders.

In almost all scenarios, the Steelers will end up as the AFC's No. 4 seed and host the top wild card team in the first round of the playoffs. It'd take a lot of combined results to move even to the 3-seed.

Given that, a Packers win could also send Pittsburgh toward resting players. The Steelers may not want two full weeks of resting guys, but they'll also have even more reason to be careful.

The Browns won't be playing for much on Sunday besides the Myles Garrett single-season NFL sack record. So there could be a lot of randomness if the Steelers have indeed clinched a spot before their game actually rolls around.

Rodgers would surely have a nice handshake for Matt LaFleur if the Packers make this happen for the Steelers.
