Micah Parsons knows exactly who should be Penn State's next full-time head coach.
The Green Bay Packers superstar, who played his college ball at Penn State, thinks it's a no-brainer that Penn State should make interim head coach Terry Smith the new full-time head coach.
Smith took over for former Penn State head coach James Franklin after he was fired back in Octobe r.
"I'm with my guy Terry Smith," Parsons said, per The Athletic's Matt Schneidman. "I've known him since I was 14 years old, that's how long he's been there and he continued his faith and passion towards Penn State."
"I mean, if we have any common sense, if they ever want me to come back, they better put Terry there," Parsons added.
Smith has been with the program as a coach since all the way back in 2014, but he also played his college ball there from 1987 to 1991, so he's a true Penn State lifer.
Parsons isn't the only one who has publicly voiced his support for Smith, as several current Penn State players have, also.
The most notable has been linebacker Tony Rojas, who fired off a series of tweets throwing his support behind Smith.
“This just funny at this point [not gonna lie] [laughing out loud] we might go a whole [season] with no [head coach], when we clearly got a Head coach right upstairs in the office, don't understand
,” Rojas tweeted.
“We stand with Terry or nobody else,” Rojas added. “That simple.”
Clearly there is plenty of support for Smith to get the full-time gig.
Now, Penn State has to weigh giving it to him or facing the backlash of going with someone else.
