The Green Bay Packers have a key player to monitor in Week 15 thanks to an injury to running back Josh Jacobs.
Jacobs is once again on the injury report this week with a knee issue, but unlike last week he is not taking part in practice for a second straight day.
"Packers coach Matt LaFleur said RB Josh Jacobs (knee) likely will miss his second straight day of practice, and they will see where he’s at tomorrow," ESPN's Rob Demovsky wrote on Thursday.
We weren't too concerned about Jacobs' status after his lack of participation on Wednesday, but another absence now sets off alarm bells.
In Week 14, Jacobs was a limited participant on Wednesday and Thursday before he ultimately played.
When he sat out in Week 12, Jacobs started off the week not practicing before turning in limited sessions on Thursday and Friday ahead of his being ruled out for the contest, so his lack of participation this week is concerning.
With every game from here on out crucial for the Packers, we know Jacobs is going to do everything he can to play, and we know the Packers will give him up until game-time on Sunday before making a decision.
Who is Josh Jacobs' handcuff?
That would be Emanuel Wilson, who has served as the clear-cut RB2 in Green Bay all season. We also saw Wilson step into the starting role when Jacobs was absent Week 12.
In that contest, Wilson ripped off 107 yards and two scores on 28 carries while adding two catches for 18 yards.
That makes him a must-start option if Jacobs sits out, even in a tough matchup against an elite Denver Broncos defense.
