The Green Bay Packers have to decide what to do with Matt LaFleur.

Do they fire their head coach? Is there a trade to be lined up to send him to another team? Or do they stick by him after losing in the Wild Card Round as the NFC's 7th and final playoff team?

The time to choose has arrived now.

The Packers were up 21-3 at one point on the Chicago Bears on Saturday night, but a 25-6 deficit in the fourth quarter cost them their season.

Will it cost LaFleur his job?

It might come down to Joe Montana.

This is what The Athletic's Matt Schneidman wrote on the matter:

"Ed Policy’s father once traded Joe Montana. Watching dad run the 49ers, Policy learned to do what’s best for his own organization no matter what others may think. Policy’s first big decision is here: Should he bring back Matt LaFleur?"

Policy took over as Packers president in July.

"Policy learned from his father that no matter what those inside or outside 1265 Lombardi Ave. Think, he needs to do what’s best for the Packers," Schneidman writes. "Just like dad did with the 49ers."

LaFleur didn't want to talk about the job questions on Saturday night, of course.

But pretty soon, Green Bay is going to have to figure it out, even if it isn't easy.
