It really did come down to this.
The Pittsburgh Steelers led 29-24. The Detroit Lions had fourth-and-goal. There were six seconds.
Jared Goff threw to Amon-Ra St. Brown, who was stopped just short. St. Brown may have had his forward progress stopped, but he also pitched the ball to Jared Goff, who dove into the end zone.
There were also penalty flags.
The officials talked for multiple minutes before coming to the call.
They called offensive pass interference. The game was over. St. Brown had pushed Jalen Rams ey at the top of his route. It appeared to be the correct call.
The quirkiest part to the ruling: They said the touchdown counted.

So if there had been no flag, the crazy Goff run-in after the lateral would've counted.
Holy cow.
The Steelers stay in first place in the AFC North Division.
The Lions fall to 8-7 and are nearly out of the playoffs. They now have a 16% chance to make the playoffs, according to ESPN.
