Jahmyr Gibbs couldn't be stopped.
And good thing, because the Detroit Lions needed everything Gibbs had to beat the New York Giants on Sunday in Week 12.
Gibbs had an astounding stat line:
- 15 rushes
- 219 rushing yards
- 2 rushing touchdowns
- 11 catches
- 45 receiving yards
- 1 receiving touchdown
That's incredible enough.
But then you learn that Gibbs passed a couple of all-time greats to make some NFL history.
Gibbs entered the day having scored 41 career NFL touchdowns before turning 24.
Now, he has scored 44 TDs before turning 24.
In doing that, he passed Jim Brown (42) and Emmitt Smith (43) on that leaderboard.
Gibbs is now tied with Randy Moss, and behind only Barry Sanders (47) on this incredible career-starting record list, according to NFL.com.
With a birthday in March, Gibbs will play the entire rest of the season with a chance to catch up to and pass Sanders.
It's an epic start to his career after being the No. 12 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Gibbs has been everything the Lions could've wanted, and he's currently residing among some all-time greats.
