We are still waiting on final word for Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown's status for the Week 14 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

St. Brown sustained an ankle injury last week and failed to practice this week before drawing a questionable tag for Thursday night against Dallas.

As we await an update on St. Brown, the Lions might have given us a hint about if he is going to play or not.

The team announced it is elevating wide receiver Malik Cunningham from the practice squad for the Thursday night contest against the Cowboys.

This move might indicate the Lions believe they need another pair of hands on the roster because St. Brown isn't going to play.

Of course, the Lions will also be without wide receiver Kalif Raymond, but the team did not elevate another wide receiver for last week's game to fill his spot, so that's important to note when trying to read between the lines here.

If St. Brown doesn't suit up, the Lions are going to need more out of fellow wideouts Jameson Williams and Isaac TeSlaa.

Williams stepped up big time last week after St. Brown exited with seven catches for 144 yards and a touchdown, and TeSlaa added two grabs for 35 yards and a touchdown.

We'll get our definitive answer on St. Brown's status around 6:45 p.m. ET, when the Lions release their list of inactives for Thursday night.
