Where Broncos sit in AFC West, playoff picture after Week 13 win vs. Commanders image

The Denver Broncos picked up their tenth victory of the season on Sunday, defeating the Washington Commanders by a score of 27-26 in overtime.

Denver is now 10-2 on the year and has won nine games in a row after starting 1-2. Sean Payton's squad has quickly established themselves as a contender in the AFC and is also in a prime position to take home the AFC West for the first time since 2015.

That said, here are the AFC West standings after 13 weeks of play.

AFC West standings

1. Denver Broncos (10-2)

2. Los Angeles Chargers (8-4)

3. Kansas City Chiefs (6-6)

4. Las Vegas Raiders (2-10)

Denver has taken a two-game lead over the Los Angeles Chargers in the AFC West, though the Chargers hold the head-to-head advantage over the Broncos due to a Week 3 win. Both teams will meet again in Week 18.

Los Angeles also has the divisional record advantage (4-0) over the Broncos (2-1), meaning the Chargers have the tiebreaker advantage over the Broncos, for now.

On top of it all, the Broncos are now the No.1 seed in the AFC with their victory over Washington. However, if the New England Patriots defeat the New York Giants on Monday Night Football in Week 13, New England will be back in the one position.
