Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton is attempting to become the first man to win a Lombardi Trophy with two different franchises.
This will also be what’s before John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin should they choose to continue coaching next season. Both men parted ways from their respective teams.
Harbaugh was in Baltimore for 18 seasons and won Super Bowl 47, while Tomlin won Super Bowl 43 and was in Pittsburgh for 19 seasons.

“(Tomlin’s) run there. John Harbaugh’s run there. The consistency and the staying power. The wins,” Payton told reporters Tuesday.
“(Tomlin’s) a close friend. Anytime I get these black and yellow Jordans, he’s the same size as me, I send them to him. I’m like, I’d never wear these colors. I wish him well. It’s part of the game.”
Payton won Super Bowl 43 during his 15 seasons in New Orleans. His attempt at winning another will resume Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET when the Broncos host the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round at Empower Field at Mile High.

Something that has bothered Payton all season long is the home atmosphere at Mile High. Earlier in the season, he complained about the scoreboard antics. On Tuesday, he provided the crowd with new instructions.
“For years we were conditioned to raise the noise level when they broke the huddles," he said. "The noise level needs to be loudest when they enter the huddles.
“Can we do that collectively for 65 snaps? That’s a huge advantage.”
