Of all the tweets fired off about the Bo Nix injury, former NFL quarterback Nick Foles' might be the best.
The Denver Broncos lost Nix to a season-ending ankle injury in the playoff win over the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, which means the Broncos will have to start Jarrett Stidham in the AFC Championship Game versus the New England Patriots.
But Foles is here to offer some hope for the Broncos, and in the process he took an opportunity to troll the Patriots by citing how he defeated New England in a Super Bowl after replacing an injured Carson Wentz during the season.
"Note for the Broncos and their fans: I know it has been an emotional 24 hours. I feel for Bo and the team, and I'm sending prayers for a strong recovery. A positive note going into the game versus the Patriots is that they struggle against backup QBs in championship-type games," Foles wrote.
Foles wins the internet for the day, hands down.
During the 2017 season, the Philadelphia Eagles lost Wentz to a season-ending injury, which forced Foles to take over, and he eventually pull off one of the legendary performances in Super Bowl history.
Not only did Foles complete 28-of-43 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns to one pick, he also caught a touchdown pass on the infamous "Philly Special" play the Eagles drew up.
The major difference between Foles and Stidham is that the former had a lot more experience than the latter when he took the reins of Philly's offense.
Adding to that, Foles didn't have multiple years in between throwing passes in the NFL like Stidham has.
Regardless, we can simply appreciate what was an elite tweet from Foles.
