The Denver Broncos are one of the NFL's hottest teams, riding a four-game winning streak and sitting atop the AFC West at 5-2.
While their defense sits near the top of the league in terms of EPA/play, offensively, they leave a little more to be desired.
Bo Nix is having a strong sophomore season in the NFL, but a little more support could go a long way for the former Oregon standout.
Jonathan Jones says Broncos are 'biggest contenders' for WR
According to CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones, Denver is searching for wide reciver help ahead of the trade deadline.
"Perhaps the biggest contender for a receiver is not the Steelers but instead the Broncos. Courtland Sutton is 30-years-old and just signed a four-year extension with an out after next season. Denver has all of its picks through the fifth round and added a fourth from the Saints in the preseason," wrote Jones.
"The Broncos are 5-2 with a top-ranked defense and a quarterback on his rookie deal for at least another season. Folks around the league are watching the Broncos to see how aggressive they may be."
Denver should try and capitalize on their current division lead and surplus of cap space to land another weapon for Sean Payton's offense.
Among names reportedly available leading up to the deadline are New Orleans Saints' Chris Olave, Brandin Cooks, and Rashid Shaheed, Las Vegas Raiders' Jakobi Meyers, and New York Jets' Allen Lazard, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
It likely wouldn't cost Denver an exorbitant price for the likes of any of the aforementioned players and would only strengthen their shot at contending for a championship.
