The Denver Broncos are 7-2 and have the best record in the NFL, tied with the Indianapolis Colts. But, despite the strong record and their strong AFC West lead, the Broncos still have some areas to improve.
Denver could add another wide receiver, tight end, or even more depth on defense. There should be no question about the Broncos being buyers; the only question is how far they go.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Broncos are one of two teams that he's keeping a close eye on for a potential trade deadline splash.
Broncos trade rumor points to massive deadline deal for Sean Payton
"We'll see if any deals get done," Schultz reports, "but the two teams I'm watching today for a potential 'holy crap' trade are the #Seahawks and #Broncos."

Denver has plenty of reasons to make a deadline splash, and if there was one position where such a move could come, it'd be in the wide receiver room.
There are three names worth mentioning who could be moved, and all three would be massive pickups for the Denver offense.
New Orleans Saints speedster Rashid Shaheed is a strong candidate for the Broncos, with the team's need for a deep-threat receiver. Adding Shaheed would be a huge move, but it wouldn't constitute a "holy crap" reaction from around the NFL.

But if the Broncos added Chris Olave, another Saints receiver, then such a reaction might be more appropriate. And yet, there's one other player who'd illicit an even stronger reaction from fans and media alike.
With the Miami Dolphins parting with general manager Chris Grier, a potential Jaylen Waddle trade is back on the table. If the Broncos could land Waddle to pair with Courtland Sutton, Schultz's "holy crap" description would be more than appropriate.
There's no guarantee that the Broncos will make such a trade, but with their cap space in a great place, Bo Nix on a rookie deal, and the defense being so elite, making a splash for Waddle or another high-profile receiver would make a lot of sense.
Denver has the ammo, cap space, and reason to make such a deal. This trade rumor from Shultz is worth keeping an eye on as the deadline approaches, as Payton and George Paton could make the biggest splash move of the NFL trade deadline.
