The Denver Broncos won on Christmas night over the Kansas City Chiefs, putting them on track to secure the AFC West and the top seed in the AFC.
But, before the game, Kirk Herbstreit, who was calling the game alongside Al Michaels for Amazon Prime, went up to Broncos QB Bo Nix with his dog, Peter. It would've been a normal greeting, had Nix not been scared of dogs.
Herbstreit shared Peter and Nix's interaction on Twitter/X, and along with a story from Jarrett Stidham, Nix also revealed why he's afraid of dogs.
Bo Nix is afraid of dogs, Kirk Herbstreit shared why
"He hates dogs, he's scared of them," Herbstreit said of Nix. Stidham further elaborated on some of that fear from Nix and how it's not just one kind of dog, it's all of them.

"We were pulling up, and there was a big (expletive) dog, mean dog," Stidham said, "and Sam goes 'Bo, that's the kind of dog you need to be scared of,' and (Bo's) like, 'nope, they're all the same."
Irregardless of what kind of dog it is, Nix is apparently afraid of them. When asked about why, Nix explained that he had an incident as a child, in which he was attacked by a dog, and since then, he's been afraid of dogs.
When Herbstreit walked up to Nix with his dog, the comments from Nix revealed some more insight into just how scared of dogs he is.

"My wife will be shocked," Nix said as he pet Herbsreits dog. "If I could change it, if I could change one thing, I would."
Nix acknowledges his fear and wants to change it, but with his fear stemming from his childhood, it won't be easy to overcome said fear.
With this childhood incident, and Nix not growing up around dogs, his fear of "man's best friend" has not disappeared.
The Broncos franchise quarterback is scared of dogs, but he's not so scared that he cannot be around them, as seen by his brief interaction with Peter, Herbstreit's dog, ahead of the Christmas night matchup.
