The Denver Broncos are a mile high above the AFC West right now, as the team boasts a record of 9-2. Part of that success is due to their record of 7-2 in games decided by eight points or fewer. Seven of their nine wins this season have come by one score. In contrast, they went just 1-6 in similar situations last season.
The turnaround has made former pretenders into contenders, with their offense, led by young quarterback Bo Nix, always seeming to come up in the clutch when it matters most. Nix explained why he feels his squad has doesn't get rattled during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Friday.

"I think last year, we didn't expect, or think we could find a way, to win at the end," Nix said. "Then, after a couple of games that just went our way, we're like, 'Hey guys, we got this; we can win these close games.'"
Broncos are a different team in 2025

Nix's comments suggest that the team has a lot more confidence and faith in one another than they did in 2024, when they finished 10-7, but could have earned a few digits in the win column had they been playing like their present-day incarnation.
"We got a really good defense that we can lean on, we've got offensive players that are going to make plays when the time comes, and [kicker] Will Lutz has done a great job in crunch time."
"It's all about the moment, and you got so stuck in the moment... So, we try to cut out the chaos and what's going on, on the outside."
Nix and his Broncos will have the week off this Sunday, but they will return in Week 13 to face the Washington Commanders (currently 3-8) on the Nov 30 edition of Sunday Night Football.
