The Denver Broncos won a massive game in Week 11, with a 22-19 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Denver is now 9-2, and the Chiefs are 5-5. It would take a collapse and a Chiefs resurgence for the division to flip at this point in the season.
What made that win so impressive was the three players the Broncos were without. J.K. Dobbins missed the matchup, as did Alex Singleton and Patrick Surtain II. While Dobbins' injury might be season-ending, Surtain and Singleton can return.
Fortunately, according to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, both Surtain and Singleton are poised to return after the Broncos' perfectly timed Week 12 bye.
Broncos set to have Patrick Surtain II, Alex Singleton return in Week 13
"Broncos are optimistic that LB Alex Singleton and CB Patrick Surtain II can make it back into the lineup Week 12 (post bye)," Fowler reports.
This is some incredibly encouraging news for the Broncos. While they've been able to win without both, having the defense at full strength will be a huge boost for the Broncos down the final stretch of games as they try to clinch the AFC West.
Surtain has been dealing with a pectoral issue and has missed time since Week 8 of this season. While he wasn't expected to miss the season, his absence was known to be a long one.
His return in Week 13 was always the plan. But the Singleton issue was completely unexpected, surprising, and serious for Singleton and the Broncos.

"Singleton," Fowler reports, "who on Nov. 7 underwent surgery to have a cancerous tumor removed from one of his testicles, has received encouraging results post-surgery. Multiple sources say he's not a lock for Nov. 30 return vs. Commanders but is trending that way as of now."
While Singleton's status for Week 13 is a little murkier than Surtain's, he does have a chance to return to the Denver defense at the same time as Surtain.
This report from Fowler is some very encouraging news for the Broncos. If Surtain can return in Week 13, and Singleton is at least close to a Week 13 return, then the defense that's already elite could get even better.
At 9-2, it's been all good news for the Broncos in the last 24 hours. From a huge win over the Chiefs to the news that both Surtain and Singleton are on track to return soon, the Broncos are entering their bye week at a great time with a lot of momentum.
