Many Denver Broncos assistant coaches are drawing interest for head coaching vacancies around the league, which is no surprise after Denver finished 14-3 and secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph has been mentioned as a potential candidate in league circles, according to insiders, along with secondary coach Jim Leonhard.
However, one lesser-known assistant on the offensive side of the ball — young and relatively inexperienced — has also emerged in the coaching cycle.
Raiders want to interview Broncos QB coach
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Raiders have requested an interview with Broncos quarterbacks coach Davis Webb for their head coaching opening.
"Still just 30 years old, Webb spent six years as an NFL QB before going straight into coaching and has been on the fast track. A fascinating candidate," Pelissero wrote on X.
Webb had previously been identified by The Athletic as a coach to watch after helping develop Bo Nix into a legitimate NFL starting quarterback.
Drafted in the third round by the New York Giants, Webb transitioned quickly into coaching following a brief playing career and has been on the Broncos’ staff since 2023. Before joining Denver, he was reportedly offered an opportunity to coach Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills.
Ahead of the 2025 season, Webb was promoted to offensive pass game coordinator while retaining his role as quarterbacks coach. Entering the postseason, the Broncos rank 11th in the NFL in passing offense.
While Nix threw for more yards and led the team to more wins this season, he posted a lower completion percentage, fewer touchdown passes and saw his quarterback rating decline by 5.5 points.
