The Denver Broncos are a bit short-handed in their pass-catchers group this week, so they could use more out of tight end Evan Engram in the Week 10 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
When the Broncos signed Engram in free agency, they envisioned him being a key pass-catcher this season. Engram entered Week 10 ranked fourth in receiving yards among Denver pass-catchers, so things haven't exactly panned out.
And, sure enough, Engram is off to a quiet start in the Week 10 game against the Raiders. Here's a closer look at what's going on.
Is Evan Engram playing tonight?
UPDATE: Engram has his first catch with under two minutes left in the first half. It went for seven yards.
UPDATE: The Broncos not only got multiple first downs on their fifth drive, they actually scored a touchdown. Unfortunately, Engram wasn't involved in all that.
UPDATE: Engram was targeted on Denver's fourth drive, but Nix threw on the run and the pass was inaccurate and fell incomplete.
UPDATE: We are through three drives for the Broncos and Engram is still stuck on one target and no catches. The Broncos' offense has been awful and has yet to get so much as a first down, so Engram's slow start is no surprise.
Engram is active and on the field and received a target on Denver's second drive, he just couldn't bring it in.
The Broncos' offense is off to a terrible start over two drives, as Bo Nix and Co. Have yet to move the chains once, which is shocking against the Raiders' swiss-cheese defense.
Hopefully the Broncos' offense gets going soon and Engram plays a big part inthat.
