Denver Broncos' big offseason signings may lead to some buyer's remorse image

The Denver Broncos made some risky free-agent signings this offseason, and they are not paying off.

The team made three major signings early in free agency, adding both Dre Greenlaw and Talanoa Hufanga from the San Francisco 49ers to add more physicality to the defense and then signing tight end Evan Engram to give Bo Nix an athletic pass catcher on offense.

Through two games, the Broncos may already be experiencing some buyer's remorse.

Greenlaw and Hufanga both came with some injury risks as neither of them was able to play much last season in San Francisco. While many agreed that the signings could each be impactful, there was an asterisk next to each of them.

While Hufanga has looked good in his time with the Broncos so far, Greenlaw has done almost nothing for the team and now, he has been placed on injured reserve and will miss at least the team's next four games.

Engram has been available, but it doesn't seem like he has because he has been extremely quiet in the first two games, catching just four passes. However, he has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers

This has to be quite frustrating for the Broncos and while many fans are going to say there's no reason to panic, there absolutely is. Yes, it's only been two games, but neither Greenlaw nor Engram has offered a single reason to be optimistic. Their past doesn't matter much because, as far as this season goes, they have yet to help the team in any way.

The hope will be that each of them can rejoin their teammates soon and make an impact on this season, but it would probably be a good idea for the Broncos to begin formulating some contingency plans, as odds are, they're going to need them.
