Broncos set for visit with first-round draft bust 'receiving significant interest' image

The Denver Broncos are reportedly showing interest in a former first-round pick who was recently cut loose by the Tennessee Titans.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Broncos are hosting wide receiver Treylon Burks for a visit next week. Burks was a first-round pick of the Titans in 2022.

"Former Titans WR Treylon Burks, newly available and one of the top free agents, is planning to visit the Broncos next week, source says. The former first rounder will likely take other visits after receiving significant interest," Rapoport reported.

Burks started the year on injured reserve with a fractured collarbone but is now fully healthy. However, he's looking for a new home after the Titans waived him from injured reserve.

Burks was the Titans' solution to replacing A.J. Brown after the franchise's horribly bad trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. Burks never came close to replacing Brown, though, and injuries played a part in that.

But Burks wasn't exactly effective when on the field. Over 27 career games, he averaged just 25.9 yards per contest and tallied 699 yards and one touchdown overall.

All that said, Burks is still just 25 years old and perhaps a change of scenery will do him some good. The Arkansas product would enter a positive situation in Denver thanks to having a good quarterback in Bo Nix and an opportunity for a role.

The 6-foor-2, 225-pound wide receiver offers some versatility, as he can operate as a big slot or out wide. Burks has played 74.2% of his career snaps on the boundary and 20.8% in the slot.

The Broncos really have nothing to lose by bringing him in, although it appears they're going to have some competition for Burks' services.
