Broncos provide injury update on defensive tackle yet to make 2025 debut image

The Denver Broncos are traveling overseas this week to London, England, to take on the New York Jets on Sunday morning.

Heading into the game, the Broncos will seek their third win in a row after picking up key victories against the Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles in Weeks 4 and 5.

In preparation to face the winless Jets, the Broncos could be getting a boost on the defensive line with a key player nearing his season debut.

Broncos designate DT Malcolm Roach to return from IR, listed questionable for Week 6

Earlier this week, the Broncos announced that 2024 standout Malcolm Roach was activated from the injured reserve. In the team's Friday injury report, he is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets.

Denver will have to activate the 27-year-old to their 53-man roster before he's able to make his 2025 debut.

Roach's contract is set to expire after this season, having signed a two-year, $7 million deal in 2024. His addition benefited the Broncos last year, as he went for career highs in tackles (43) and sacks (2.5).

In an interview on Wednesday, head coach Sean Payton commented on Roach's progress, saying, "He had good work today."

If Roach is ruled out and has to wait another week before his return, he will join fellow teammates LB Jonah Elliss and G Ben Powers as players listed as out for Week 6 in London.
