The Denver Broncos will open the 2025 season with what many will see as a favorable schedule. After the home opener against the Tennessee Titans, last year's worst team, they travel to Indianapolis to battle the Colts.

Fans within Broncos Country are already celebrating these games, calling them "easy" and pegging the Broncos for a quick 2-0 start. Much of that is due to the starting quarterbacks for each team. However, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

"Don't count your chickens before they hatch" is one of the world's oldest proverbs; it exists for good reason.

The Broncos can't overlook either of these teams. Starting with the Titans, who will have Cam Ward ready to make his first career start, that's not necessarily a good thing and certainly isn't cause to chalk it up as an automatic victory. In recent years, we have seen C.J. Stroud and Jayden Daniels have huge success right out of the gate, and there is no reason to believe that Ward can't follow in those footsteps.

While the Broncos will likely present Ward with a huge challenge because of the defense Vance Joseph will throw at him, imagine if Ward were able to have a huge game against that defense and how that could quickly change the narrative of the season.

The Colts have named Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback for Week 1 and likely beyond. Broncos fans are taking this information and running with it.

However, Daniel Jones may not be that bad of an option. Sure, he struggled in New York, but that was a product of what was around him as much as it was his play on the field. In Indy, with a competent head coach in Shane Steichen, they could easily come up with a sensible game plan to make this a closer game than one might think.

Truthfully, Broncos fans should have wished they had gone with Anthony Richardson instead.

The Broncos appear to be in line to have a chance to start the upcoming season off strong, but anyone who follows the NFL on a regular basis knows that there are almost no "sure things" in this league and there are surprises just about every week of the season.

Sean Payton has been around long enough to understand that. He must make sure his team focuses on each of these opponents as it would any other and not assume a 2-0 start is going to be handed to them... cause it won't be.
