The Denver Broncos were victorious over one of the best teams in the NFC on Sunday. They clinched a playoff berth and saw the Kansas City Chiefs officially eliminated from playoff contention. It was a good day to be a Broncos fan. But good news often comes with some bad news.
During the 34-26 win over the Packers, the Broncos saw starting safety Brandon Jones and running back RJ Harvey leave the game with injuries. These would be considered significant losses if these players miss any time, and it seems as though that could happen.
Starting with Jones, who has been nothing short of terrific for the Broncos, he left the game with a chest injury, which is also being reported as a pectoral injury. P.J. Locke stepped in for him, but Locke is a considerable downgrade from Jones.
The combination of Jones and Talanoa Hufanga at safety has been one of the main reasons the Broncos' defense has been what it is this season. Locke has plenty of playing experience, but he lacks the physicality and overall athleticism that Jones brings to the lineup.
As for Harvey, he left the game late, after scoring his 10th touchdown of the season, with what was called a rib injury by sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson. That is concerning mainly because the Broncos are already thin at running back following the loss of J.K. Dobbins a few weeks ago.
Not having Harvey available would force the Broncos into a tight spot. The only other running backs on the 53-man roster are Tyler Badie and Jaleel McLaughlin. Neither of them is an every-down back. The team recently signed Sincere McCormick to the practice squad, so he could get a look as well.

Both of these players missing any length of time would be a tough blow for the Broncos to deal with at this stage of the season. Broncos Country will be eagerly anticipating updates on both players.
