The Denver Broncos improved to 9-2 on the season with a huge win over the Kansas City Chiefs, a win that dropped the Chiefs, who have won the AFC West division title nine years in a row, down to 5-5.

The Broncos had to weather the storm that is the Chiefs, who were desperately looking to avoid dropping 3.5 games behind the Broncos in the standings. But in the end, Bo Nix led the Broncos on a game-winning drive, capped off by a 35-yard field goal by Wil Lutz as time expired.

The Broncos have now won eight games in a row and are in line to challenge for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Here are the players who stood out in this one.

Denver Broncos Week 11 winners and losers

Winners

Bo Nix, QB

His statistics won't jump off the page, but he didn't turn the ball over and he made plays when he needed to. On the game-winning drive, he completed a 20-yard pass to Courtland Sutton on 3rd-and-15. Two plays later, he found Troy Franklin for a 32-yard gain that set up the game-winning kick.

Nix did exactly what the Broncos needed him to do in this one.

Ja'Quan McMillian, CB

Ja'Quan McMillian played one of his best games to date and was as big a reason as any as to why the Broncos won this game.

McMillian had two sacks of Patrick Mahomes and a crucial interception. The interception came at the Denver at the Denver 5-yard line with the game tied 6-6. The Chiefs had driven into scoring range, but Mahomes made a poor decision on this 3rd-and-14 play.

On what turned out to be the Chiefs' final offensive play, the Chiefs faced 3rd-and-10 from their own 26-yard line. Mahomes dropped back to pass and McMillian came on a corner blitz to get a huge sack and force a three-and-out.

Wil Lutz, K

Not only did Wil Lutz boot five field goals in this game, but as fate would have it, the game-winning kick came from 35 yards out. That is exactly the same distance as the one he had blocked at Arrowhead Stadium that would have beaten the Chiefs last year.

Frank Crum, OL

A backup offensive lineman? Yes. Frank Crum was the player who blocked the extra point attempt of Harrison Butker in the fourth quarter, keeping the margin between the two teams to just three points. This ended up being a big factor in the game.

Losers

Riley Moss, CB

Riley Moss seems to be in one of these categories following every game. But this time, he's on the wrong side. Moss was called for three penalties in this game (2 defensive pass interference, 1 illegal contact) and each one of them gave the Chiefs a fresh set of downs.

Broncos Rushing Attack

J.K. Dobbins' loss was felt in this game. Though RJ Harvey offers plenty of promise for the future, he was kept in check in this game, gaining only 30 yards on the ground. As a unit, the Broncos rushed for only 59 yards on 21 carries, an average of 2.8 yards per carry.

That has to be better.
