Did the Cowboys really just cut one of their starters because he asked to spend time with family when the team had extra time off? If so, that is a new low for a franchise that continues to make questionable personnel decisions under aging leader Jerry Jones.

As it turns out, a team acquiring Diggs as some extra secondary insurance for a playoff run comes at a reasonable cost

ESPN's Adam Schefter wrote that a parting of the ways seemed inevitable after a rocky couple of years between player and team. "One source said the decision to move on from Diggs was due to a culmination of events, including performance."

The 27-year old received a $97-million, five year extension in 2023. However, due to knee injuries he's only appeared in 21-games over the past two seasons, including eight this year.
