After four long weeks it's finally time to see Jaydon Blue take his first regular season snaps in the NFL.

Nick Harris of The Star Telegram reported on Thursday that the fifth-round rookie is expected to make his NFL debut on Sunday against the Jets.

Blue, who logged over 1,000 yards in his final season at the University of Texas, is expected to provide a spark in the Cowboys backfield behind veteran starter Javonte Williams.

The rookie rusher made a post on Instagram alluding to the big announcement.

"It was all a process. Let's do it 23," Blue posted on social media.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer said last week that Blue's inactive status was more due to injuries on the defensive side of the ball than his ineptitude.

Now that the team is healthier, more roster spots are open to allow the rookie a chance to shine on the road in New York.

There's no way to predict how many snaps Blue could get on Sunday but he'll be rushing behind a battered Cowboys offensive line. C Cooper Beebee and OG Tyler Booker are both hurt and OT Terrence Steele was pulled from Sunday's game against Green Bay.

The Cowboys are hoping that Blue can get into open space and make things happen despite the injuries.
