All offseason, we heard about Brian Schottenheimer and his energy and desire to develop one of the best cultures in professional sports, and it seems that he's well on his way with the Dallas Cowboys.

Known for bringing the juice every day, Schottenheimer, along with Klayton Adams and the rest of his coaching staff, drives the standards.

It is one part fun, one part hard work, and through the offseason and the opening five weeks, it appears Dallas has found a perfect balance between the two, which is hard to do.

And for tight end Jake Ferguson, when discussing the different personalities of Schottenheimer and Adams, both are distinct, yet they share the same goal of making this team great while keeping things light.

"I think that's a superpower of this team is, we've got a lot of love for each other and it's almost hard to not have those moments," Ferguson said. "But at the same time, we still have that time to be like, okay, it's time to lock in right here and get the job done."

Cowboys in race for NFC East title

While the Cowboys have done a good job of keeping their heads down and working this season, the chance has presented itself for them to thrust themselves right into the thick of the NFC East.

With the Philadelphia Eagles losing to the New York Giants, if Dallas slays the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, it would move to within one win of the Eagles and the second-placed Washington Commanders (providing they win, too).

So, there is extra motivation for the Cowboys to go back on the road, secure the win, and then have themselves right in the mix for a division that hasn't had a repeat winner since 2004.

Having fun, but also knowing when to get down to business, that is Dallas' superpower, and come Sunday, it will be all gas, no brakes with a real shot at putting some serious pressure on the NFC East leaders.
