George Pickens has responded to former NFL star and Prime Video analyst Richard Sherman, who was critical of Pickens' effort in the Dallas Cowboys' Week 14 loss to the Detroit Lions.
Sherman accused Pickens of looking disinterested during the contest, and it's hard not to agree with the ex-NFL cornerback after the Cowboys wideout showed an obvious lack of effort while running routes on Thursday night.
“George Pickens, throughout the game, especially late in the game, looked uninterested. Uninterested in playing football. And that’s what you can’t have. If you’re going to be a superstar, if you want to be the best receiver in the National Football League, you can’t ever be disengaged," Sherman said.
"It doesn’t matter if the game is going your way or not going your way, you can’t just disappear in these games or else you’re not going to have impact," he added.
George Pickens' response to Richard Sherman
On Friday, Pickens responded to Sherman with a rant on social media that has since been deleted but was first captured in a screenshot and shared on X.
In the rant, Pickens went as far as to call Sherman a "p— a—."
"This is a team game lmao I'm not the only one on the team. Stop becoming a analyst and talking about one player when he playin a teams game. Lots of [s—] has to go right for Explosive. Plays... And it's funny cause I thought former players would know that such as RICHARD P— A— SHERMAN WHO [BY THE WAY] AIN'T [S—] WITHOUT THE LEGION OF BOOM WE ALL REMEMBER SAN FRANCISCO BROTHER," Pickens wrote.
"Much love... Don't speak on me unless you know the game of football as a former player not a d— riding fan/analyst that act like double team is not a thing or certain bracket coverages don't exist," Pickens added.
"Knowing you played ball which show me you a LEACH WEIRDO."
In that entire response, Pickens didn't really address the issue at hand here.
Say what you want about how the Lions played Pickens throughout the contest, but it doesn't explain Pickens not giving full effort.
This is yet another shining example of the immaturity Pickens has displayed his entire career dating back to his days with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He should've taken the high road and admitted his fault, but instead, he's making this a bigger issue than it needs to be and is now creating a distraction.
As if the Cowboys didn't have enough reasons to avoid paying Pickens on a long-term extension in 2026, he just gave them another.
