Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is anticipated to be out for three to four weeks after suffering a high left ankle sprain during last Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears.
Lamb came into the matchup against the Bears riding back-to-back 100-yard receiving games to start the season. The Cowboys star suffered an ankle injury with 8:34 left in the first quarter while taking a handoff, when linebacker Noah Sewell landed on the back of his legs, twisting Lamb's ankle.
He missed the next 14 snaps before returning for the first play of the second quarter, moving noticeably slower. After the game, Lamb said he wanted to return to the field once he regained strength and mobility, but the medical staff held him out.
Cowboys' Stephen Jones backs George Pickens
With Lamb gone, all eyes are on George Pickens when Dallas takes on the Green Bay Packers. The Cowboys traded for the former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout to have a player who won't only be a No. 2 receiver, but has the potential to elevate his game and be a No. 1.
During an appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones is backing Pickens to fill the shoes that Lamb is leaving behind due to his injury.
"George is a great football player and I know he'll step up and do a good job for us," Jones said on the GBAG Nation. "We're worried about game to game and certainly we're great. It's great that we've got George.
"I think [KaVontae] Turpin's done even better than most expected in terms of his explosiveness and what he can do for our offense. Obviously Javonte Williams has stepped up. We just have to take each week week by week and focus on that, and it certainly starts with the Packers on Sunday."

Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott is looking to get Pickens involved in the offense as the wideout has been targeted nine times in back-to-back weeks. Now, with Lamb out, that number could increase.
