The Dallas Cowboys made a potentially key quarterback move this offseason.

They completed a trade with the Patriots to bring in Joe Milton to slot behind Dak Prescott in the depth chart.

Now, there's some tricky intel emerging about Milton.

Greg Bedard of The Boston Sports Journal recently shared new information on his podcast.

“Joe Milton — and this is a direct quote from someone in the organization — is 'not a good dude,'” Bedard said. "Knowing your role, playing your role, being part of a harmonious quarterback room — that was going to be an issue. It wasn’t about Drake Maye. It was just about the room.”

Well, that's not the most encouraging.

Maybe not everyone felt that way about Milton, but it's not ideal for anyone to feel that way about a young quarterback.

If Prescott can stay healthy, Milton's presence won't be crucial in Dallas. But if the Cowboys need Milton, he'll certainly have to prove he can perform.

Milton made one lengthy appearance for the Patriots in 2024, in Week 18 against the Bills backups. He went 22-for-29 with 241 passing yards, and he both threw for and ran for a touchdown.

Now, Milton is with the highest-profile franchise in the NFL. His actions will be noticed, and Dallas has to hope he takes good steps to be a strong behind-the-scenes contributor.
