As the Tennessee Titans turn the page to the offseason, the No. 1 priority is helping out quarterback Cam Ward.

The Titans are seriously lacking weapons for the No. 1 overall pick, and that problem will only get worse if the team cuts wideout Calvin Ridley, which is possible. Even if Ridley sticks around, the Titans need more.

With that in mind, ESPN's Aaron Schatz is predicting the Titans will sign Dallas Cowboys pending free agent and wide receiver George Pickens, who is projected by Spotrac to land a four-year, $122.8 million deal.

"The Titans will make a huge splash by signing George Pickens in free agency," Schatz said. "Tennessee's biggest need is talented and experienced wide receivers for Ward, and the Titans have a ton of cap space. Pickens ranked fifth in the ESPN's receiver scores this season and third in my DYAR values among wide receivers through Week 17."

There is one massive problem with this prediction: Dallas is not going to let Pickens hit the open market.

Instead, all indications are the Cowboys are going to try to re-sign Pickens, and if they can't get that done in time, the franchise tag will likely be utilized.

From there, the Cowboys would have more time to re-sign Pickens, and they could even turn around and trade him if negotiations hit a wall.

The Titans really shouldn't have interest in adding Pickens, anyway.

Yes, he's a supremely talented receiver who just posted a career year, but he's also very volatile and can create problems in the locker room with his bad attitude.

Pickens had a few hiccups but was mostly on his best behavior in 2025. However, we are very hesitant to believe Pickens is a changed man and he could very well revert back to the problem child he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers after he receives a lucrative, long-term deal.

That is just the wrong guy for a rebuilding team like the Titans to have in the building. Tennessee should avoid him at all costs.
