The Dallas Cowboys have gotten things right at running back two seasons in a row.
Why not go three for three with three different dudes?
That's what they may be looking at in free agency. Rico Dowdle left before this season. Javonte Williams could leave after this season.
There will be plenty of possible signings, though.
One is JK Dobbins. That's who Bleacher Report's Alex Kay predicts the Cowboys will sign, getting the former Ohio State RB from Denver (which would be the second in a row from the Broncos after Williams followed that path).
"Dobbins will be well worth rolling the dice on for a cash-strapped club like the Dallas Cowboys," Kay writes. "The team could be priced out of retaining Javonte Williams and will want to make up that lost production by coming to terms on a cheap, incentive-laden deal with Dobbins."

The Cowboys will at the very least also have fifth-round running back Jaydon Blue around. The speedster out of Texas has been an utter disappointment. He can't just be counted on to take over in the backfield.
But maybe behind a guy like Dobbins, Blue can continue to mature. The Cowboys would like to get some use out of him eventually.
For now, it likely requires a veteran leading the way in the backfield, potentially with some youth waiting in the wings.
