The Washington Commanders, Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles appear to all be in the trade market for the same thing and that could lead to the NFC East foes competing for the same players ahead of the deadline.
According to FOX Sports' NFL insider, Jay Glazer, the three teams are all looking out for help on defense. Glazer didn't get specific with what Philly and Dallas are looking for, but he did note Washington wants help at defensive end.
"(The Cowboys are calling around for help on defense, but they're not the only ones," Glazer said. "Washington's calling for a defensive end. The Eagles are always calling around, looking for help on defense. The Giants are the only ones staying put."
While Glazer didn't specifically mention what position the Cowboys and Eagles are in the market for, we know both need an edge rusher.
After all, the Eagles just lost Za'Darius Smith to an unexpected retirement and they had an issue while he was still on the team, as Philly has just 16 sacks in eight contests. The return of Brandon Graham might help but simply isn't enough.
The Cowboys haven't been able to replace the production lost from the Micah Parsons trade and Dallas has just 15 sacks over eight games.
The Commanders aren't in much better shape with 19 sacks in seven contests, and Washington just lost its best defensive end and sacks leader, Dorance Armstrong, following a season-ending injury.
Some teams that could have edge rushers that interest the NFC East squads are the Miami Dolphins (Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips), New Orleans Saints (Cam Jordan and Carl Granderson) the New York Jets (Will McDonald and Jermaine Johnson) and the Tennessee Titans (Arden Key).
