The Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions are set to do battle on Thursday night and quarterback Dak Prescott just gave his opponent some bulletin board material.
Prescott did a pre-game interview with Jane Slater of NFL Network and she asked the Cowboys quarterback what he remembers most from his last game at Ford Field, where the Cowboys and Lions will meet on Thursday night.
His response isn't going to sit well with the Lions or their fans.
"That we lit them up. Lot of passing yards. About to do it again," Prescott said.
When Slater asked if she can use his quote, Prescott responded "sure" with a smile.
The Cowboys and Lions last met in Detroit in 2019, when the Cowboys emerged victorious in the contest, 35-27. In that game, Prescott threw for 444 yards and three touchdowns in the winning effort.
Of course, that was a very different Lions team back then. Detroit was still under the disastrous tenure of former head coach Matt Patricia and was one of the worst teams in the NFL, finishing with a 3-12-1 record.
Since head coach Dan Campbell took over in 2021, the Lions have turned things around and have been one of the best teams in the NFL in recent years, although that hasn't translated into a Super Bowl.
The Cowboys got the better of the Lions in their first two meetings while Campbell was the head coach, but Detroit completely destroyed Dallas in its own stadium in 2024, winning 47-9.
The Lions are in a similar spot to the Cowboys entering Week 14, with both teams on the outside looking in.
Dallas can jump Detroit for the No. 8 spot in the wild-card standings with a win on Thursday night, which makes this game incredibly important.
