Kenny Pickett lasted less than a year from the time he was traded to the Cleveland Browns to the time he was traded away from the Browns.

It created a quick little trade tree, from the Philadelphia Eagles, to Cleveland, to the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Browns traded a 2025 fifth-rounder and Dorian Thompson-Robinson for Pickett.

Then when they sent him to the Raiders, it was for a 2026 fifth-rounder.

With the conclusion of the regular season, we know what spot that pick will be for the Browns.

It'll actually be the first pick of the fifth round, No. 139 overall. It couldn't have been any higher.

And if the fifth round sounds boring, it certainly wasn't in 2025, when the Browns chose Shedeur Sanders at No. 144 overall.

It ends up being not a terrible outcome for the Browns essentially renting Pickett for a few months. They basically get back what they put into the original deal.

It's still up to Cleveland to make a decent selection in the 139th slot.

The Browns are one of the league's youngest teams, so if they happen to get a sleeper with that pick, there'll be a chance to break into the lineup sooner rather than later.

All thanks to the Pickett wheeling and dealing, and helped by the Raiders simply being not good at all in 2025.

The Browns are also slated to pick at No. 144 and No. 147 in the fifth round, the first being their own pick and the latter coming in a deal from the Bengals in the Joe Flacco trade (which sent a sixth-rounder the other way).
