The Cleveland Browns, after a rough 2025 season, have fired head coach Kevin Stefanski. With the head coach spot open and Andrew Berry in charge of the search for a new hire, there are plenty of options available.

But this offseason, many of those head coaches are defensive coaches. Coaches like Jeff Hafley and Chris Shula are among the top names this hiring cycle, but they're defensive coordinators and wouldn't be ideal for developing Sanders.

If the Browns want to try developing Shedeur Sanders, an offensive mind is a much higher priority. To help develop Sanders, these three offensive head coaches are names worth keeping an eye on this offseason.

Browns' best options to help develop Shedeur Sanders

1. Matt Nagy

The Kansas City Chiefs' offensive coordinator is one potential option for the Browns this hiring cycle. He's one of the top offensive-minded head coaches available, and he's drawing interest this offseason.

While the Chiefs struggled this season, the injury to Patrick Mahomes and the close losses, unlike their record from a year ago, shouldn't sway teams away from Nagy.

He doesn't carry the same hype that Ben Johnson did a year ago, but Nagy has experience and could be a solid option to help Sanders develop in 2026 and beyond.

2. Joe Brady

Brady is the Buffalo Bills' offensive coordinator, and while there hasn't been nearly as much high-flying potential for the Bills' offense this season, the lackluster wide receiver room has played a factor for Buffalo.

For Sanders and the Browns, Brady has experience with a quarterback in Josh Allen who possesses a big arm and considerable talent. While Allen struggled out of the gate in his NFL career, so too has Sanders.

But the talent is there, and Brady, who's helped orchestrate one of the league's top offenses in 2025, could be a great option for Sanders and the Browns to bring in this offseason.

3. Klint Kubiak

Kubiak might be one of the best options available this offseason for the Browns. He's helped turn the Seattle Seahawks offense with Sam Darnold into one of the best in the NFL.

He also had a lot of success with the New Orleans Saints in 2024, and now, with Seattle, has proven himself to be one of the league's best offensive minds.

If the Browns want to develop Sanders, going with Kubiak might be their best bet. It would be a fast ascension for Kubiak in the NFL, but he's shown with his offense in Seattle that he's worth hiring for the Browns or any team looking to improve their offense.
