The Cleveland Browns will take on the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in Week 14, giving Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward an opportunity to face each other for the first time in the NFL.
Entering the draft process, many believed that Sanders and Ward were the two best quarterbacks on the board by a wide margin.
Ward was selected with the No. 1 pick, while Sanders shockingly fell to the fifth round, which adds a little extra juice to this matchup.
However, when speaking to reporters about facing Ward, Sanders didn’t make it personal and said he’s simply excited for the opportunity to play.
“I would say I’m just excited for the opportunity to go out there and play,” Sanders told reporters. “Last week’s showing wasn’t the best, so just having the opportunity to go out there and play.
“Cam’s competitive, it’s always fun, you know, getting out there, training with him. And then, we both ended up getting drafted, and we both went our separate ways. And that’s really everybody that I played in college with almost, you know, everybody’s focused on what they got to do, and it’s all love whenever we see each other.”
Getting a win against the Titans would be a step in the right direction for Sanders, even if it’s simply because he’d be beating someone who went first overall just a few months ago.
The Titans obviously aren’t a great team, but the Browns will take a win however they can get it.
