The Cleveland Browns may have a franchise quarterback on their hands.

Shedeur Sanders made his third career start against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday and had himself an outing, despite the loss.

The former Colorado Buffalo completed 23 of 42 pass attempts for 364 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, and one insider believes Sanders made his case to be the Browns' starting quarterback of the future.

Mary Kay Cabot says Shedeur Sanders made his case to be Browns' QB of the future

According to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot, the fifth-round rookie's performance on Sunday was enough to prove his doubters wrong, at least for now.

"It was a quadruple 'wrist-up' kind of day for Shedeur Sanders, who bolstered his case to show the Browns 'I’m who they’re looking for,' despite their 31-29 loss to the Titans," wrote Cabot.

"Auditioning for the Browns’ 2026 QB1 vacancy, Sanders showed all the moxie and grit he was known for at Colorado in almost orchestrating a come-from-behind victory."

Sanders did his best to put Cleveland in a position to come back and defeat the Titans, but some head-scratching play calls from Kevin Stefanski on their two-point conversion attempts left a lot to be desired.

Regardless, Sanders will have four more games down the stretch to continue to prove he belongs as the starting quarterback of an NFL team, and if his performance on Sunday was any indication, Shedeur may just have a chance to be the Browns' Week 1 starter in 2026.
