The Cleveland Browns are going to be rolling out rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel as their starter when they take on the Jets, as confirmed by head coach Kevin Stefanski.
But if Gabriel struggles again for another week, will it finally be time to pull the Oregon Duck and give Shedeur Sanders a shot under center?
It's possible, but with the way the Browns' brass has handled Sanders and his playing opportunities, it wouldn't be a shock to see them continuing to play Gabriel.
Tony Rizzo says 'something is going on' with Browns and Shedeur Sanders
ESPN Cleveland radio host Tony Rizzo went off on a rant this morning, publicly questioning why Sanders has yet to see the field for the Browns.
He thinks something is going on behind the scenes that's preventing the fifth-rounder from playing.
"Why has Shedeur Sanders not gotten on the field? I want everybody's opinion on this. I cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on. Something's going on," Rizzo lamented.
"I'm telling you what I'm hearing. I'm not hearing anything. I'm hearing a bunch of stuff I don't wanna believe, but I don't know what's legit or not. So I'm gonna tell you that I honestly don't know what's going on."
Rizzo's questions likely stem from the Browns' total lack of interest in giving Sanders a chance.
It's fair to say Gabriel has been a tough watch in his starts this season. His lack of physical ability leaves a lot to be desired in terms of quarterback play.
You would think after four weeks of watching the former Oregon Duck struggle that Cleveland would pivot to another quarterback.
And because they haven't, it leaves more questions than answers.
