The Cleveland Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, where they are currently expected to take Colorado dual-threat Heisman winning-star Travis Hunter. However, the Browns could be on the cusp of a big trade.
According to Peter Schrager of ESPN, the Browns and Giants are both listening to calls to trade down.
"There have been phone calls made to both the Browns at two and the Giants at three with the intention to move up from several different sources telling me there are teams that are looking to get up in this draft to either the two or the three spot. The assumption being... it would be for Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter, or running back Ashton Jeanty."
Schrager adds that the Browns and Giants are not "slamming down the phone," meaning they are open to moving down in the draft for the right price.
Considering the Browns could land multiple high-premium picks should they move down, it could be worth doing. Especially if a team like the Saints are the team calling and offering the No. 9 pick. There have been no trades involving first-round picks yet, which is sure to change - and perhaps it will change with the Browns moving down.
