The Cleveland Browns were handedly defeated by the Chicago Bears by the score of 31-3. The loss sends the Browns to 3-11 on the season, marking the eighth time since 2010 that Cleveland will finish with at least 11 losses in a season. The story that Browns fans have focused on more so than wins, though, is the pursuit of the NFL single-season sack record by Myles Garrett.
The star edge rusher finished with 1.5 sacks, taking his season total up to 21.5. He is now just one sack away from tying Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt for the most in a single season in NFL history. With three games remaining, it is very possible Garrett gets to 25 sacks, which he has made it known is his goal, even going as far as to write the number on his wrist tape.
The Browns will face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills at home in Week 16. The Bills gave up two sacks against the New England Patriots in their 35-31 win over their division rivals in Week 15. In Week 16, they will host the Pittsburgh Steelers. Garrett didn't register a sack in the first matchup with Pittsburgh, nor did the rest of the team. Cleveland will then close out their 2025 season against the Cincinnati Bengals and Joe Burrow.
History does favor the Browns in two of their final three contests. They have beaten the Steelers in each of the last three games in Cleveland, and Joe Burrow has only won in Cleveland twice. That said, the Browns may be better off getting as high of a draft pick as possible in order to improve their chances to land a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft.
