Former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel has emerged as a candidate for the Cleveland Browns’ head coaching vacancy.
According to Cleveland.com reporter Mary Kay Cabot, McDaniel is scheduled to interview with the Browns on Monday. He previously spent the 2014 season in Cleveland as the team’s wide receiver’s coach.
This will mark McDaniel’s first interview since he was fired by the Dolphins last week. He is also expected to interview for the Tennessee Titans’ head coaching opening on Wednesday.

McDaniel compiled a 35–35 record, including playoff games, over four seasons in Miami. He led the Dolphins to the playoffs in each of his first two seasons, though the team went just 15–19 over the past two years.
Beyond head coaching interest, McDaniel has also drawn attention for offensive coordinator roles. He was recently contacted by the Detroit Lions regarding their OC vacancy after the team parted ways with John Morton following one season.
