Meet Harold Fannin Jr., Browns' draft pick from Canton who set tight end records at BGSU image

The Cleveland Browns just got the heir apparent to David Njoku at tight end.

They used the 67th overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft on Friday night to take Harold Fannin Jr. out of Bowling Green State University.

Fannin was the most statistically accomplished tight end in the country.

Here's what you need to know:

Who is Harold Fannin Jr.?

Harold Fannin Jr. is a local kid.

He attended McKinley High School in Canton.

Fannin was an All-Ohio defensive back as a senior.

Harold Fannin Jr. receiving records at BGSU

Fannin had a gigantic 2024 season.

He totaled 1,555 receiving yards on 117 catches. Those both led the nation, for any player, not just a tight end.

They were also both FBS single-season records for a tight end.

What happens to David Njoku?

Browns fan favorite David Njoku is entering the last season of his contract.

He can mentor Fannin for a year, then likely cede the floor to the former BGSU star.

It's a great plan by the Browns.
