Is Jerry Jeudy playing today? Why Browns' WR is off to quiet start in Week 5 image

(Ron Chenoy)

Jerry Jeudy is massively important to the Cleveland Browns' offense in the Week 5 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Jeudy is the Browns' No. 1 wide receiver, but the team needs him to step up even more than usual in what is the starting debut of rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel. Cleveland is also without Cedric Tillman, who is on injured reserve.

However, Jeudy is off to a quiet start early on in the game against the Vikings in London on Sunday morning.

Here's a closer look at what's going on.

Is Jerry Jeudy playing today?

UPDATE: Jeudy has his first catch of the game in the closing minute of the first half.

Finally!

END OF UPDATE

UPDATE: It looked like Jeudy finally had his first catch of the game with a little over four minutes left in the second quarter, but it was overturned after replay showed it clearly hit the ground.

But, hey, at least he has a target!

END OF UPDATE

UPDATE: We're up to four offensive drives for the Browns and Jeudy is still nowhere to be found.

Not good.

END OF UPDATE

UPDATE: Jeudy still doesn't have a target through three drives.

Gabriel has instead connected with David Njoku, Harold Fannin Jr. and Dylan Sampson.

It's not looking good for the veteran wideout.

END OF UPDATE

Jeudy is healthy, active and in the lineup, he just wasn't targeted on the first series, which only saw one first down.

Gabriel completed just one pass on the drive and it went to tight end David Njoku.

We want to say better things are ahead for Jeudy, but that's not guaranteed because of how disappointing he has been through four games.
