The Cleveland Browns had one of the best draft classes from the 2025 NFL Draft. While having a lot of draft picks helps, the Browns still have hit on essentially all of their draft choices.
Mason Graham, Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and Quinshon Judkins draw a lot of attention, and Harold Fannin Jr. Has also impressed, but none have been nearly as impressive as rookie linebacker Carson Schwesinger.
ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi called Schwesinger the Browns' rookie of the year, and it's hard to argue he's not just the best rookie amid a star-studded draft class, but the best draft pick in the entire 2025 NFL Draft.
How Browns' Carson Schwesinger is NFL's best pick from 2025 NFL Draft
Selected 33rd overall, Schwesinger has been nothing short of remarkable. He has 147 tackles and 11 tackles for loss, which leads all rookies this season.
Also, despite being a linebacker, he is tied for second in interceptions with two this season. Schwesinger has been a star and has been an instant game-changer for the Browns.
He's very likely to win the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year award, as the other options haven't been nearly as impactful as the former UCLA walk-on.
With Schwesinger looking like the favorite for the DOPY race and the lack of a front-runner for the offensive player of the year award, there's a realistic case to be made that Schwesinger was the best player and best pick from the 2025 NFL Draft class.

He wasn't a first-round pick, showing how the Browns got a lot of value in their selection of Schwesinger in the draft. Cleveland has a lot of the top rookies this season, but Schwesinger has been far and away the best this season.
As Oyefusi notes, Schwesinger "has also worn the green dot all season to relay the defensive play calls." For a rookie to handle such responsibilities at this high a level is nothing short of remarkable.
The Browns got a steal in the 33rd pick, as Schwesinger is not just the best defensive rookie, he's been the best rookie from the 2025 NFL Draft class this season.
