The Cleveland Browns stole a win from the Green Bay Packers in Week 3, overcoming a 10-0 fourth-quarter deficit off the strength of a Jordan Love interception and a blocked field goal to win on a field goal of their own on the game's final play.
Ahead of the game, though, there were murmurs of the Browns getting set to make a quarterback change, according to Browns insider Brad Stainbrook.
"Earlier this week, Kevin Stefanski and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees spent much of Monday in meetings weighing whether to hand the job to Browns rookie Dillon Gabriel, per league sources," Stainbrook reports.
This, of course, means that Shedeur Sanders wouldn't get the call to be the starter if Flacco gets benched, which is expected considering Gabriel is No. 2 on the depth chart. However, Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson wants the Browns to get rid of Sanders if they aren't going to play him.
"I hate to see him there," Dickerson said. "I wish they would have cut him. Let him have another good opportunity with a better football team."
While Sanders is the No. 3 quarterback, it feels very likely we will see him at some point this season, especially if the Browns lose as many games as the general consensus thinks they will.
